In the 1970s a series of leaflets were produced by the Wimborne Civic Society with information about Wimborne and the surrounding area.
These leaflets are in the form of routes through different parts of the area with descriptions of places of interest encountered on the journeys. It is our intention to update and re-issue these.
So far an updated version of a Wimborne Walk has been created in folded A3 format (DL) and in continuous format for viewing on a mobile phone. In addition the 1970s Georgian Wimborne leaflet and a booklet with extended Wimborne Walks have been re-issued here on-line.
You can download copies of these:
A3 Version of the Town Walk.
Town Walk for mobile use.
Re-issue of the 1977 Wimborne Walk Booklet with extensions to the central walk.
A 1970s explanation of some of the architectural features of Georgian Wimborne with examples you can find.
Note: Some of the references in the 1970s leaflets are out of date.
We are proud of what we have achieved so far, but your active participation will help to secure the future quality of life in and around Wimborne.
